Las Vegas Trial Lawyer- Tracy A. Eglet
Tracy Eglet is a founding partner of the distinguished plaintiff’s law firm Eglet Law Group, now Eglet Adams, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has been practicing law since 1993, largely on behalf of injured persons and in the areas of product defect and general negligence. Tracy is considered by her peers as one of the most successful female attorneys in Nevada. She has been honored as one of The Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers Association; is a longstanding member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum; honored as a Guardian of Justice and sustaining Pillar Member by The Nevada Justice Association and as a Patron by the Nevada Law Foundation. Tracy was also featured in the cover story entitled “Drive to Win Tracy Eglet” in Las Vegas Woman Magazine Summer of 2013 and was named one of the Readers’ Choice Awards Top 100 Lawyers in Las Vegas for 2015 by MYVEGAS Magazine.
Tracy has settled hundreds of millions of dollars in catastrophic injury lawsuits, managed and mediated hundreds of cases, and selected juries whose verdicts exceeded $50 million. As Managing Partner of the firm, she very successfully manages this multi-million dollar law firm, its employees, and operations. As a result, the firm has been named in the Top 50 trial law firms multiple times in recent years and named one of the Top 12 Plaintiff Injury Firms in the United States by the National Law Journal.
Tracy’s skill, strategy, and tenacity in preparing cases help position her clients to obtain the highest value in settlements and verdicts. Her professional growth has landed her in the position of Lead Negotiator at her firm. She has solely negotiated hundreds of product defect and general negligence cases, with settlements totaling over $350 million. Some notable settlements include $6 million due for spine injuries received on defective arcade equipment, $7.5 million for spine injuries received in an auto accident, and $1.9 million as a result of a buffet food poisoning. In addition, she co-negotiated one of Nevada’s largest product settlements against one of the world’s biggest drug companies. Her strong affinity for product defect litigation came about early in her career after she effected nationwide change in the design of a manufacturing machine that seriously injured her client’s arm while he was on the job.
Tracy genuinely cares about her clients and strives to fight for each and every client to help them get their life back and this is clearly demonstrated in the amount of time and effort she devotes to every case. Tracy is the first to admit that she is part of a team and that she is only as good as the people beside her. She has structured Eglet Adams around this concept, this corporate culture, which enables her firm to fight and prevail against some of the largest, most reputable law firms in the world.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tracy designed her former office space that received both state and national award recognition and recently designed the firm’s new office space at the Robert T. Eglet Advocacy Center, a 46,000 sq. ft. building in the downtown Las Vegas area, which opened in January 2014. Tracy was instrumental in the design of this building from the ground up which includes sustainable features such as energy and water-efficient construction and electric car charging stations in the parking structure. The Robert T. Eglet Advocacy Center was awarded the 2015 Spotlight Award for Office Building of the Year by the NAIOP Southern Nevada Chapter, a chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, which is the leading organization for developers, owners, and professionals of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate.
Tracy grew up in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from high school early at the age of 16. With grants, loans, and jobs she put herself through college, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science at Canisius College in New York and her Doctor of Law (J.D.) Degree at Ohio Northern University. Rather than landing a job at a major law firm, she instead decided to go into practice on her own, a very rare thing for a young woman fresh out of law school but she did it, and excelled. She opened her solo law practice in Columbus, Ohio in 1993 and remained a successful one-woman firm, fighting for her clients as a solo practitioner until she moved to Las Vegas in 1996 where she has been ever since.
Tracy is licensed to practice in Nevada, Ohio, the Federal Courts of Nevada and Ohio as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of several professional associations and charitable organizations such as the Clark County Bar Association, State Bar of Nevada, Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, The Global Directory of Who’s Who (Top Lawyer Lifetime Member), and United Way. Tracy has earned the distinction of Lifetime Charter Member of the Distinguished Justice Advocates, a prominent group dedicated to promoting and recognizing the highest standards of legal excellence and the “Top 1% Attorneys in America” who have demonstrated the highest ideals of the legal profession.
Tracy makes time outside of the demanding requirements of her job at the firm to spend time with her partner in life and work, Robert Eglet, Senior Partner at Eglet Adams, and their three adult children, Jordan, Blake, and Keegan. Jordan graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) William S. Boyd School of Law and is an associate attorney at Eglet Adams; Blake, a black belt in karate, is part owner of a dojo in Las Vegas; and Keegan works for Eglet Adams on the Mass Torts Team. Tracy and her husband, Robert currently live in Summerlin, Nevada, and are very active in the community.
